I got to serve under him in bagdad , and he was the greatest nco i have ever met. He truly loved his soldiers. The justice system made a mistake ,and imprisoned a great man and here. All of damage inc. 2plt never forget how he took us in ,and the things he taught us.

It is sad to see and hear how many sergeants are allowed to be framed. Our family also knows the pain caused by this insane judicial system. The invisable scars are for life. The injustice also effects those manipulated into committing perjury. During war, where can anyone go to safely tell the truth. When commanders and politicians do something so stupid that they NEED a scapegoat I pray it is not your son or daughter they choose. It really, really hurts. We are praying for John and his family, please... pray for ours!

  • Greg Snyder

I have served in the US Navy and come from a Military family that goes back many generations. MSG Hatley you served in good faith to your country and the US Army and were railroaded. The military has always been able to convict at will who they choose too. We continue to pray for you and your fellow warriors to be released back to your families and loved ones.

  • Billy J Shafer

To finish what I was saying. This is nothing more than an Army cover up. CID couldn't find anything so they had to find something. We call it CYA in the military. Cover Your Ass.We have nonmilitary people in this country. With proof that they commited a crime walking out scott free.John I live in Centerville and called your mother for dave from Germany. Hang in there we will get you out.

  • Billy J Shafer

A man with his record is not going to risk his future over something like this. I smell a command cover up. CID can't find any proof that anything happened. This whole thing stinks. He should be out and all benifits restored. This has Army cover up all over it. I am also a twenty two year vet.

I served with John in A. 1-5 CAV and deployed with him to Bosnia. We shared the same bunk house for 7 month's. I learned alot about John during this period. John is the most selfless person I have ever met, his ability to tend to the need's of other's before his own is second to none. John's sense of never ending humor helped me see it through some hard time's of my own. I am truely blessed for being able to call a man like you my friend . Ilove you brother and look forward to the day that this country we love releases one of it's greatest son's. Merry Christmas JOHN from the entire Speck family we hope that the new year will bring you closer to getting home.

(Army Veteran) John it's obvious you made many sacrifices for this country and there are many of us still here that appreciate that. I'm outraged by how they have treated you. Our soldiers are being asked to fight a war with their hands tied behind their backs. To the people that imprison our soldiers, soon the day will come when men like John will no longer fight for your freedom. I pray for your release and that our leaders grant you pardon.

  • 1SG (Ret) Michael Benham

I don't understand why our soldiers pay such a high price for trying to do the right thing. This case is like leaving 1SG Hatley on the battlefield after a fire fight. You wouldn't do that, but we charge him with murder. Our soldiers deserve better protection from incident like this.

iknow you remember me .we both served in alfa co 187th.you were the armorer for a time.i KNOW this is waay wrong .i never trusted the cid or oficers that blindly ignore justice and draw their own conclusions.justice will be served brother.i clearly remember you as a frind and leader while we were ABU's!keep your head up rakkasan!

  • Tracy Smith

Thank you John for all your service and for keeping my husband, SSG Chris Smith, safe during his overseas tour with you. I am outraged that this injustice has been done to you. I wish you the very best health and speedy trial to get you home to your family as fast as possible. I truly believe you are the reason my husband made it home safe. You are such an inspiration to my husband. He learned from you how to be an effective and proud soldier. He credits you for teaching him how to learn our new soldiers. He has become such and amazing soldier, person and father from you. Thank you for all you have done for our family and know that you are always in our prayers!

  • Callie

  • Rhonda

John, I love you so much and am missing you dearly. I can't wait till you get back home. You have sacrificed so much and faced situations that are so unbearable that most people can't comprehend not even myself. I am honored to be your sister. I stand in awe of you and you inspire me. I pray that eyes will open to the injustice and send you home. I love you!!!

  • Dave Null

    Keep your head up Brother.

  • Billy J Shafer

This whole thing stinks. How can you be convicted of a crime and not have any proof that the crime. Ever took place. No proof that it ever happened. No one is missing. Even C I D came up empty. So how can there be a crime when there is no proof. I smell a command cover up.I have 22 years in the military. So I have an idea about how the system works.

  • Nancy Hays

Hello my name is Nancy and I am John Hatley's cousin. I am writing to tell you that John is a very well thought of by many. I thing that He went to service his country for so many years. If he did't care he would not have done it. i will never understand why our guys who do service for our country get blamed for things that did not happen. I just pray that he will soon get to come home. His family loves him very much. thank you

  • Ed Arrington

I have known John Hatley all his life and I can say without reservation that he is one of the most honorable men I have ever known. John is one of the few people alive who would be willing to put himself in jeopardy like this to protect his country. It is a matter of national shame that John and other good men like him are in prison for doing their job. It is worth noting that this shameful conduct is not limited to persecuting soldiers, but is also being done to border agents who are being put in prison for doing the job they were hired to do.

  • K. ECKOLS

We are praying for a full pardon! This hero deserves only the highest honors attainable for what he has been through and what he is going through now. God Bless John Hatley for how he protected his men and served his country ~ preserving our country's freedom...Psalm 145:14

  • Alice Hanson

John, has worked so hard for our country. He does not deserve what has happened. He needs to be freed! He is a fine example of doing the right thing. He should not have to spend one more moment behind bars.

John has been gone so long and we were getting ready to finally have him back home, we found out he would be taken from us again. I still don't understand how someone can be imprisoned in America with no forensic evidence. It is time for the military to give him his life back and let him come home to his family.

  • Nancy

I personally have experienced the hand of an unjust "justice" system. Too many times people are convicted without hard evidence. The forefathers of this country which John has spent his life defending would be ashamed of how the system has failed him and many other Americans.

  • jodie

Ok there is no evidence of any crime he should b released. This guy has served our country and he is in jail thats wrong we should b doing something to help prove he is innocent and get him home where he belongs

  • Kay Thornal

Lost Prairie Baptist Church is praying for you. and hope you will be released soon.

  • June

I am one of John's four sisters who believes this is a travisty. John is a Hero through and through. I'm ready for him to come home.
